Frances Balodis


Frances Mae Balodis MEd., ARCT, LCCN(H), LCNCM(H), RMT, MYCC is founder (in 1980) of Music for Young Children® and cofounder of CLU™. As a Registered Music Teacher, Frances received the Hugheen Ferguson Distinguished Teacher award in Regina SK in July 2011. She was nominated (in 2011) and was a finalist for the Louis Applebaum Composer Award. A certified Neurolinguistic Programmer (NLP) and an Accredited DISC Training provider, as well as teacher with over 50 years experience, Frances is a sought-after speaker at conferences and is a welcome workshop clinician, adjudicator and examiner. She delights in helping people of all ages and places understand their learning styles. Frances is the Chairperson for the Music for Young Children Composition Festival. Frances is now the Director of Muskoka Men of Song. Frances is an active composer of children’s piano and vocal music. Frances has adjudicated at many Festivals including London Kiwanis, Renfrew Rotary, Orillia Lions, North Bay, Niagara, Collingwood, and Peterborough. In 2015 she was the Contemporary Showcase clinician in Parry Sound. She also enjoys being a Conservatory Canada examiner. Frances lives in Ullswater, Muskoka, ON. She is organist at St. Thomas Anglican church in Ullswater, ON. Frances plays handbells in the Bells- A- Pealing bell choir in Bracebridge. She was the pit-orchestra-accompanist for the Rotary presentation of My Fair Lady in February 2014 and Wizard of Oz in 2015 in the Rene Caisse theatre in Bracebridge, ON.
